In Myanmar schools, there is an integrated triangular symbol that represents the involvement of teachers, parents and students. The intention is that students, parents and teachers all need to equally work together to create a quality education system.

Having the day off suddenly, I didn’t have anything planned and decided I should visit my local pagoda and take in the atmosphere. As luck would have it, the Shwedagon Pagoda is a brief 20-minute stroll through the People’s Park from my house. What better pagoda to have as your local for the celebrations.

Our students want us to stay, but unfortunately due to the conflict, we're not able to continue teaching here in northern Rakhine State and plan to return when the situation is more stable.
